Did you know that one in five people suffers from hay fever these days?  Well, not these days, obviously, it’s winter now – between March and November.

Just think back to last summer for a moment … who do you remember who was constantly sneezing and had red watery eyes?  You can probably remember more than one.

And those symptoms are from the outside looking in.  On the inside, there’s the constantly blocked or running nose and … the itching … which could be in the eyes, or throat, or mouth, or nose or even in the ears.  And some people lose their sense of smell, have facial pains, sweats, and headaches.

The symptoms of hay fever can make people miserable.  When you’re suffering, it can be difficult to concentrate or to sleep properly.  All in all, hay fever is not a problems to be sniffed at (sorry, couldn’t resist).

So, why am I writing about it now, I hear you ask, when no-one is suffering from hay fever?  I’m writing about it now because now is the time to get homeopathic treatment for hay fever so that, maybe, the symptoms will be reduced this season.

That’s exactly what I thought until last year, at Christmas when two of my family had the flu and EFT helped them feel better.

If you’re suffering from a cold or flu right now, give this a try.  Think about what the main symptom is and where in your body you are feeling it.  Then decide how intense that feeling is on a scale of 0-10, where 0 is that feeling is not there and 10 is it’s the most intense it could be.  You could also think about how having a cold or flu is making you feel – fed up, irritable, impatient, etc.  Then, go through the tapping points saying something similar to this – whatever fits your own, personal symptoms.  (If you’re not sure where the tapping points are, you can find out by watching the EFT Demo Feeling Bad here).

Tapping on your karate chop point:

  • Even though I’m feeling all bunged up and it’s really annoying, I’m OK
  • Even though I’m all bunged up and I can’t think straight and I feel really poorly, I deeply and completely love and accept myself
  • Even though I’m all bunged up and I feel really poorly and I can’t do the things I want to, I deeply and completely love and accept myself
  • (Tapping on the top of your head) Feeling all bunged up
  • (Tapping between your eyes) Really annoying
  • (Tapping at the corners of your eyes) Feeling really poorly
  • (Tapping under your eyes) So fed up
  • (Tapping under your nose) Allowing that to go now
  • (Tapping on your chin) Releasing it now
  • (Tapping on your collar bones) Allowing it to go now
  • (Tapping under one arm) Releasing it now
  • (Tapping under the other arm) Releasing it now
Take a big breath in and out and then just check how you are feeling – on the same scale of 0-10.  If your number has gone down, but not to 0, repeat the exercise and check again.  If your number still hasn’t gone down, it may be helpful to think about the emotions connected to feeling poorly – are you worried about work, frustrated, fed up that you’re missing out on something, angry?  If you become aware that there is a strong emotion connected to the poorliness, then it may be helpful to you to do a couple of tapping rounds just on that feeling.  Use the EFT Demo Feeling Bad to tap along with.
